Similar species:
Forewing: 7 to 9mm
Habitats: Open countryside including arable land and urban areas.
Habits: The moth comes to light.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain and not completely elsewhere. On the European mainland the polyphagous larva is known to feed on many herbaceous plants, grasses and cereals. It is recorded as inwardly spinning the petals of Autumn Hawkbit to feed on the flowers, and there is another record of it pupating on a cereal head and elsewhere on the plant.
