Habits: The moth is easily disturbed from fences and posts in sunny weather. It flies from dusk and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The polyphagous larva spins immature flower-heads and feeds on the ripening seeds or spins the terminal leaves and eats out the growing tip. It feeds on Ox-eye Daisy, dandelions, Cat's-ear, hawk-bits, hawkweeds, ragworts, Wood Sage, rock-roses, Sea Campion, Mountain Everlasting and other herbaceous plants. It pupates in the leaf litter.
