Habitats: Marshy grassland, fens and bogs or dry limestone grassland in the Burren, Ireland.
Habits: It is easily disturbed by day and flies in the late afternoon and at dusk. It occasionally comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds in the rootstock of Devil's-bit Scabious. After overwintering it pupates in the larval habitation in April.
