Habitats: Chalk grassland, road verges in chalk areas and other dry grassland.
Habits: The moth rests under a flower head during the day. It flies around scabious in the evening and at dusk. It occasionally comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds in the flower and seed-head of Field Scabious, feeding on the developing seeds, spinning them to the seed-head and also to other seed-heads, bunching heads together. The full-fed larva overwinters from October in a cocoon spun amongst the leaf litter, pupating there in late April.
