Forewing: 4.5 to 6.5mm

Habitats: Sand-dunes, sea-cliffs, hedgebanks and walls.

Habits: The moth flies freely at dusk.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in the flower and seed-head of Sheep's-bit, feeding on the seeds. In early September the full-fed larva spins a cocoon in the leaf litter, then overwinters and pupates there in April.
