Habitats: Open woodland and mountain moorland.
Habits: The moth can be found sitting on the foodplant during the day and flies freely on warm afternoons and evenings. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva loosely spins the terminal leaves in the shoots of Bilberry, feeding on the leaf tips. It has also been recorded feeding on Bearberry and Mountain Willow. It overwinters in the larval habitation and pupates there in late May.
On the European mainland it has been recorded feeding on Bog Bilberry and brambles.
