Notable A

Similar species:

Forewing: 7.5 to 8.5mm

Habitats: Orchards, gardens and Somerset grazing levels.

Habits: It rests on the trunks of apple trees during the day. It is easily disturbed, but darts to the ground. It flies from dusk and comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva overwinters while small. It makes a narrow crescent-shaped mine under a leaf of Mistletoe. From April it broadens the mine to form a large silk-lined blister. It pupates in a loosely spun cocoon under bark or lichen on a branch or sometimes on the tree trunk.
