Similar species:

Forewing: 6.5 to 8.5mm

Habitats: Woodland rides and margins, scrub, hedgerows, verges, marshes, meadows and gardens.

Habits: The moth is easily disturbed and is often found resting on its foodplants during the day. It flies from dusk and later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva is polyphagous feeding from between the spun leaves or in fresh shoots and flowers of many herbaceous plants including mints, restharrows, Marsh Marigold, buttercups, Ox-eye Daisy, Creeping Thistle, Yellow Loosestrife, goosefoots, nettles, Meadowsweet, Mugwort, Elecampane, strawberries, Salad Burnet, willowherbs (as in the pictures above), brambles, privets, birches, willows, Bracken and Sitka Spruce. It pupates spun up in the leaf litter.
