Similar species:
Forewing: 7 to 8.5mm
Habitats: Moorland, mosses and heathland.
Habits: The male rarely makes short, low flights on warm, sunny afternoons, otherwise the flight time starts in the late afternoon.
Foodplant: The larva overwinters while small. In the spring it forms a succession of untidy spinnings of Crowberry leaves where it feeds on the upper surface of the leaves, moving according to the food supply. It sometimes feeds on Bearberry or Bog-myrtle. Pupation takes place in a frass covered cocoon in the larval spinning.
On the European mainland has also been recorded on Bog Bilberry.
