On the European mainland the first generation feeds in the spun flowers, the second on the developing fruit of Old-mans-beard, honeysuckles, Ivy, Wayfaring-tree, dogwood, privets, currants and Barberry. It is a pest on Grape-vines. It pupates in the larval habitation or in a spinning in the bark of its foodplant.
