Forewing: 4.5 to 6mm

Habitats: Woodland rides and margins and heathland.

Habits: The moth rests on the leaves of trees or shrubs during the day. It flies in late afternoon sunshine and later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva lives between the spun leaves of Purging Buckthorn or Alder Buckthorn. It overwinters full-fed in the larval habitation until early April when it pupates.
