Forewing: 4.5 to 5.5mm

Habitats: Calcareous grassland and sea-ciffs.

Habits: The moth is easily disturbed from low vegetation during the day. It comes to light after dusk.

Foodplant: The early instar larva feeds under a flimsy web on the underside of a leaf of Wild Strawberry, cultivated strawberries, cinquefoils, Salad Burnet and thymes. The larger larva feeds in a folded leaf lined with silk and feeds on the upperside of the leaf. The autumn generation of larvae may either pupate in a spun dead leaf or slowly feed overwinter and pupate in April.
