Habitats: Moorland, mountain moorland and heathland.
Habits: The moth often flies in abundance in morning sunshine and again in the late afternoon and early evening sunshine.
Foodplant: The larva lives between two flat spun leaves of Bilberry or Bog Bilberry. It has not been confirmed, but the full-fed larva probably overwinters in a cocoon in the leaf litter. It pupates in a cocoon in the soil or in the leaf litter in April.
