Forewing: 5.5 to 8mm

Habitats: Coniferous woodland and larch plantations.

Habits: The moth comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva at first spins several leaves of Larch together, then mines them. In the autumn it spins some leaves to a twig and overwinters within the spinning. The following spring it eats into a bud where it feeds and later pupates. It has also been recorded feeding on Sitka Spruce.
