Forewing: 7.5 to 10.5mm

Habitats: Marshes, fens, wet moorland, mosses, lake margins and gravel pits.

Habits: The moth flies at dusk and later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in a spun terminal leaf of coppiced Goat Willow, Eared Willow and also Grey Willow and Bog Myrtle. It pupates in the leaf litter or in a cocoon in the soil.
