Habits: The moth is easily disturbed in dull weather and flies over the foodplant on warm sunny afternoons. It flies from just before sunset.
Foodplant: The overwintering larva feeds in the spun leaves of Heather, Bilberry, Mountain Everlasting, Whortle-leaved Willow and possibly other low-growing moorland plants. It pupates in a cocoon in the soil.
