Habitats: Woodland, scrub, wet heathland, fens and bogs.
Habits: The moth is easily disturbed in the day. It flies around sallows at dusk and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva lives betwen two leaves spun flat together, of Goat Willow, Grey Willow and Eared Willow. The full-fed larva overwinters in a cocoon in the leaf litter, pupating in April.
