Similar species:

Forewing: 8.5 to 9.5mm

Habitats: Salt-marsh and tidal river-banks.

Habits: The moth flies for a short time in the late evening.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in the spun flowers of Sea Aster. In August the full-fed larva constructs a cocoon spun in the tidal litter, where it overwinters until it pupates in late April.
