Similar species:

Forewing: 6.5 to 8mm

Habitats: The drier margins of salt-marsh.

Habits: The moth flies from late afternoon.

Foodplant: The larva lives in the flower spike of Sea Wormwood, spinning the florets and leaves to form a silk tube. It feeds on the florets and unripe seeds. In October the full-fed larva constructs a cocoon in the leaf litter or soil, where it overwinters until it pupates there in early June. On the European mainland it has been recorded feeding on Mugwort and Wormwood A.absinthium.
