Forewing: 8.5 to 11mm
Habitats: Breckland heaths and field margins.
Habits: The moth is nocturnal and comes to light.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain and Ireland. On the European mainland it feeds in the tip of a shoot of Wormwood A.absinthium or Mugwort, causing it to swell and abort. It overwinters and pupates in spinning in the lower stem in May.
