Habitats: Coastal wasteground, quarries, gravel pits and field margins.
Habits: The moth sits near the top of the foodplant on warm afternoons. If it is disturbed it flies only a short distance. It flies at dusk and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva mines under the stem bark of Wormwood, then burrows down into the rootstock. It pupates in the larval habitation or amongst the roots.
