Similar species:
Forewing: 7 to 9.5mm
Habitats: Scrub, bramble scrub, hedgerows, open woodland and gardens.
Habits: The moth rests openly on a leaf in warm sunny weather and is easily disturbed. It flies from late evening until dusk, then again towards midnight when it will come to light.
Foodplant: The larva at first feeds in a young shoot of Blackberry or other bramble, Raspberry (including cultivars) and Loganberry. In an early instar it overwinters within silk on the lower part of a stem. In the spring it spins the terminal leaves of a shoot. On Raspberry and Loganberry it often eats out the flower buds. It pupates in the larval feeding place, in spun leaves or amongst moss.
