Forewing: 5 to 6.5mm

Habitats: Gardens, orchards and road verges.

Habits: It comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in the fruit of apples. The full-fed larva leaves the fruit in late September and constructs a cocoon under bark or in rotten wood, pupating there in March.

On the European mainland it has been recorded feeding on plums including Wild Plum and Sour Cherry, as well as apples.
