Habitats: Woodland margins, scrub and hedgerows.

Habits: The moth can be recorded by beating on dull days. It flies erratically over its foodplants on sunny days.

Foodplant: The larva spins the flowers of Blackthorn and Hawthorn. The larva pupates in its feeding place.

On the European mainland it is also recorded from whitebeams, Quince and Viburnum spp.
