Habitats: A very steep, south-facing, species-rich, flowery, calcareous grassland slope.
Habits: The moth is not as active as other burnets. The male flies only in warm, calm weather. Both sexes nectar on Wild Thyme and other flowers.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Common Bird's-foot Trefoil and Meadow Vetchling. It may overwinter twice and pupates in a papery cocoon placed low in the vegetation, often under a leaf or at the base of a grass stem.
