Similar species:

Habitats: Heathland, grassland and road verges.
Habits: The moth is nocturnal and comes to light. Originally an Asian species. Known in Britain from four specimens; two in Essex in 1880, another 19th century record in Kent, and one in Blythburgh, Suffolk on 6th July 2015.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain and Ireland. On the European mainland the larva feeds from a silk tube on Heather, cinquefoils and rock-roses.
