Similar species: Although it can be distinguished from other British and Irish species, it has recently been separated from similar European species, so for a definite identification check the genitalia.
Forewing: 8.5 to 9.5mm
Habitats: Oak woodland and parkland.
Habits: The moth comes to light. The first British record was on the West Sussex coast in early August 2020.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain or Ireland. The larva feeds on oaks. The life history is not yet fully understood as it was confused with other species until recently.
