Similar species:

Forewing: 10 to 13mm

Habitats: Barns, stables, farm buildings and outhouses.

Habits: The moth is nocturnal, but can be found resting on the woodwork and walls in and around farm buildings.

Foodplant: The larva may feed for up to two years in a silk gallery on slightly damp hay, vegetable debris and thatch. It pupates in a tough silk cocoon with debris attached.
