Forewing: 11.5 to 13mm

Habitats: Rocky hillsides and coastal slopes.

Habits: The moth can be disturbed from the vicinity of its foodplant during the day. It flies from dusk, but comes to light much later in the night.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on Goldenrod. It feeds from a web under a lower leaf or in a slight web amongst the flowers. The full-fed larva overwinters in a dense yellow-white cocoon on the ground where it pupates in May.
