Habitats: Wasteground, open ground and gardens.
Habits: The moth can be disturbed by day. It flies from dusk onwards when it visits Buddleia and Lavender and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva overwinters without feeding. In the spring it feeds on Catmint, Black Horehound, White Dead-nettle and Meadow Clary. There is a record of a larva reared from Garden Parsley. It pupates in a cocoon amongst the leaves of the foodplant.
