Habits: The moth is nocturnal and comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva overwinters while small. In the spring it feeds from a web on the leaves and shoots of Box or occasionally Evergreen Spindle. The larva is often gregarious. It pupates in a cocoon spun among the leaves and twigs or sometimes in the leaf litter below the foodplant.
