Similar species:

Forewing: 12 to 15mm

Habitats: Coastal areas, especially on chalk and limestone, wasteground and Breckland.

Habits: The moth is occasionally disturbed during the day. It flies from dusk and comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on Charlock, White Mustard and Perennial Wall-rocket. It lives in a web often containing two larvae, from which it feeds on the shoots, flowers and seed-pods. The full-fed larva overwinters in a strong cocoon under the earth where it pupates in early May.
