Forewing: 10 to 11mm

Habitats: Open woodland, damp scrub, hedgerows and gardens.

Habits: The moth is easily disturbed in the day and comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva lives gregariously on the underside of the leaves of Hedge Mustard and Garlic Mustard. The full-fed larva overwinters in a cocoon where it pupates in the spring.

On the European mainland it also feeds on Woad and Wallflowers.
