Forewing: 11 to 14mm

Habitats: Damp open woodland, marsh and damp scrub.

Habits: The moth is easily disturbed in the day. It flies from dusk and comes to light.

Foodplant: The gregarious larva feeds on Winter-cress. The full-fed larva overwinters in a cocoon under the leaf litter where it pupates in late April.
