Habitats: High mountain slopes and glens, but at a lower altitude on Shetland.
Habits: The moth rests amongst highland mosses during the day and is easily disturbed. It flies in the afternoon sun and from dusk. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain and Ireland (or elsewhere). It is thought to feed on mosses.
