Habitats: Salt-marsh, marshes, fens, marshy grassland and calcareous grassland.
Habits: The moth can be disturbed from grasses during the day. It flies from dusk and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva lives in a silk gallery covered with grass fragments and located amongst the stem bases of Common Salt-marsh-grass, Small Cord-grass, Sheep's-fescue or possibly meadow-grasses, Sea Barley and sweet-grasses.
