Forewing: 9 to 12mm

Habitats: Coastal habitats, woodland and gardens where there are moss-covered walls or roofs.

Habits: The moth rests amongst mosses on walls under dense foliage or in thatch during the day. It is nocturnal and comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva lives in a silk-lined tube running through its foodplants which include Wall Screw-moss Tortula muralis, beard mosses Barbula spp. or other mosses. It pupates in the larval gallery.
