Similar species: Pebble Hook-tip Drepana falcataria has a much larger spot in the central forewing and wavier, less bold cross-lines.
Forewing: 16 to 21mm
Habitats: Woodland. There are recent localised colonies in E Sussex and Kent.
Habits: Both sexes come to light.
Foodplant: In mainland Europe the larva feeds on birches, Alder or oaks. It pupates spun between leaves of the foodplant.
