Similar species: Figure of Eighty Tethea ocularis has a defined "80" in the central forewing and the outer central cross-line does not turn out towards the wing-tip.
Forewing: 16 to 19mm
Habitats: Deciduous woodland with Aspen.
Habits: Both sexes of the moth comes to light and sugar.
Foodplant: The larva feeds at night on the leaves of Aspen and occasionally poplars. During the day it rests between two leaves spun flat. It pupates in a loose cocoon between leaves which fall to the ground in autumn.
