Habitats: Hedgerows, rough ground and gardens.
Habits: The moth is occasionally found on walls or disturbed from garden hedges during the day. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the withered leaves of Ivy. In captivity it also accepts the withered leaves of Knotgrass, dock and Dandelion. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
