Forewing: 13 to 15mm

Habitats: Deciduous woodland, hedgerows, gardens, coastal scrub and slopes.

Habits: The moth is occasionally disturbed in the day. It comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva has been recorded feeding on Honeysuckle and Garden Privet. In captivity it accepts chickweed, Dandelion, Knotgrass and other low-growing plants. It pupates just under the soil surface.
