Similar species: An unmistakable moth with rings on the outer edge of all four wings.
Forewing: 10 to 12mm
Habitats: Damp open woodland.
Habits: The moth has regularly been recorded from the Channel Islands where it first appeared on Jersey in 1981. It has now colonised woodland in Kent and has been recorded as far north as Somerset which was the first mainland record in July 2009. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Aspen and Alder.
