Similar species: Bordered Grey Selidosema brunnearia lacks the scalloped forewing and slightly hooked wing tip. The male has broadly feathered antennae.
Forewing: 18 to 20mm
Habitats: Sparsely vegetated areas of limestone pavement with isolated low or prostrate buckthorns.
Habits: The moth nectars at scabious and knapweed after dark and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Purging Buckthorn. It pupates in a cocoon probably spun in the leaf litter or in loose soil.
