Similar species: Dusky Fan-foot Zanclognatha zelleralis has more rounded forewings and the males lack the broad plumed antennae.
Forewing: 13 to 16mm
Habitats: On mainland Europe it is found in open deciduous woodland, mixed woodland and scrub on sand-dunes.
Habits: The moth comes to light.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain. On the European mainland the larva feeds on roses, Bramble, Broom, Ivy and probably other species. In captivity it accepts the withered leaves of Bramble, Hawthorn and Dandelion. It probably pupates in leaf litter.
