Similar species: If care is taken this moth is unlikely to be mistaken for any other day flying British or Irish species.
Forewing: 8 to 10mm
Habitats: Flower-rich unimproved grassland, calcareous grassland and hay meadows.
Habits: The moth flies in sunshine and nectars at Daisy, buttercups and other flowers.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the seed-capsules of Common Mouse-ear and Field Mouse-ear. It pupates in a cocoon under the soil.
On the European mainland it has also been recorded feeding on stitchworts.
